Reinier de Ridder returns at ONE on Prime Video 5

Reinier de Ridder has become a must-watch fighter since debuting in ONE Championship in 2019. Through his seven MMA fights inside the circle, ‘The Dutch Knight' has won all, finishing five of his opponents and winning two world championships.

At ONE on Prime Video 5, de Ridder will defend his light heavyweight world championship. In a contest between two undefeated world champions, ONE interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin will move down a weight division to try and become a double champion.

Whilst Reinier de Ridder has been able to dominate his opponents on the ground, Malykhin brings more power than anyone the double champion has faced so far.

In an interview with SCMP MMA, Reinier de Ridder promised to deliver on his side of the hype:

“Of course. I always do. I always bring it to the max, I always give everything I have. This one will not be any different. There are a lot of other good fights there, too.”

ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world champion Reiner de Ridder is on the cusp of a legendary year inside the circle.

Already having defended his ONE middleweight world title twice this year with two finishes, de Ridder also competed in a grappling match with Andre Galvao. He is now set for another world title defense.

At ONE on Prime Video 5, Reinier de Ridder will face a fellow undefeated fighter when he faces ONE interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin with the light heavyweight crown on the line.

'The Dutch Knight' last appeared inside the circle at ONE 159 in July, where he defended his middleweight world championship by submitting Vitaly Bigdash.

Both men traded submission attempts throughout the fight, but it was the champ who locked up the fight-ending submission. After taking the top position, de Ridder searched for a kimura submission which Bigdash got out of by standing up against the cage.

During the transition, the champion kept hold of the grip that he had established for the kimura and used it to set up a triangle choke by throwing his legs up and around his opponent's shoulders.

The submission rendered his opponent unconscious, continuing Reiner de Ridder’s incredible run with one of the best finishes of the year.
