The Riku Kano vs. Anthony Olascuaga round-by-round updates are here to guide fans through one of the marquee boxing matches this weekend. Japan's Kano takes on the United States' Olascuaga in a flyweight bout with significant career implications for both men.
The matchup is the new feature bout for Top Rank's Japanese card. The event starts at 5:00 AM E.T. (Eastern Time) / 2:00 AM P.T. (Pacific Time). Meanwhile, the Kano vs. Olascuaga bout itself is estimated to start at approximately 5:20 AM E.T. / 2:20 AM P.T.
It replaced Kosei Tanaka vs. Jonathan Rodriguez as the co-main event following the latter's weight miss by nearly seven pounds. The pair were previously scheduled to lock horns over Tanaka's WBO junior bantamweight title. Now, Kano and Olascuaga compete over the vacant WBO flyweight strap.
The bout is a championship opportunity for both men, but it marks a massive one for Olascuaga given the disparity in experience between them. Kano is 22-4-2, while Olascuaga is just 6-1. Despite this, Olascuaga is favored to win the bout, with DraftKings Sportsbook regarding him as a -340 favorite.
Meanwhile, Kano is listed as a +260 underdog. American fans can tune in to the bout on ESPN+. UK fans, however, will find it available on Sky Sports Action.
