Muay Thai superstar 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon had not fought in his home country for years prior to this past weekend. In front of his home fans at ONE Fight Night 6, he got a vital kickboxing win, but he's admitted that he felt nervous ahead of the match.
In Bangkok, Thailand, 'The Iron Man' was able to dominantly outpoint 'The Eagle of Yi' Jiduo Yibu over their three-round kickboxing match. Having this fight in Thailand after fighting elsewhere for three years added some extra pressure on the 25-year-old striker.
During his post-fight in-circle interview, he explained:
"I’ve never been as excited as when I fight in Thailand, when I come back home. I’ve been all around the world, but this is where I feel the most pressure. I would like to thank all the people who supported me, the fans and people who made this possible."

Rodtang is the current ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion and has accomplished incredible things in the sport of Muay Thai. As well as multiple defenses of the ONE flyweight Muay Thai belt, he has earned 270 career victories.
The 25-year-old Thai fighter is now setting his goal of earning a world title in another sport. He is looking to capture ONE gold in kickboxing this year, a crown which is currently held by 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Rodtang wants the ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship
Rodtang is a man who is not satisfied with just one illustrious world title, as he is planning to add a second to his name this year, as well as a third down the line.
'The Iron Man' explained in the post-fight interview:
“Absolutely. I am ready for that [to face Superlek] ... I want to go step by step. I want to claim my title in kickboxing first and then I will go to MMA. My goal right now is to stay in the flyweight division and claim the kickboxing title and then I will move to MMA.”
'The Iron Man' has already begun his journey to kickboxing gold, notching a victory last Friday. With that, he will likely face Superlek later this year. Rodtang then wants to jump into MMA, a sport he has some experience in having faced 'Mighty Mouse' Demetrious Johnson in a mixed-rules superfight.
Despite the loss to Johnson, Rodtang got the itch and wants to switch to MMA in pursuit of a world title in ONE Championship. The future is exciting and bright for 'The Iron Man'.
