Sage Northcutt details hilarious story of mystery dish he tried in Asia

Since joining ONE Championship in 2018, American mixed martial artist Sage Northcutt has spent some time in Asia for various functions. And he said he has had a lot of interesting experiences, including downright hilarious ones.

One of which involved a mysterious meat dish he was asked to eat with much curiosity and trepidation but eventually found it to be to his liking.

Sage Northcutt shared this in a recent session on the Fistivities with KB & Renato Laranja podcast. ‘Super Sage’ said:

“I think I don’t know what it was, but I was eating this meat, and someone brought me this food and they started laughing. And I was like, ‘What are you laughing at?’ And they’re laughing at the meat and I was like, ‘What kind of meat is that?’ And they said stomach. And I was like, ‘Stomach of what?’ And then they started laughing. I have no idea what I ate still, the stomach of some kind of animal or something. But that was interesting, it tasted good.”

Sage Northcutt made a successful return to competition after four years recently at ONE Championship’s first-ever live on-ground event in the United States.

He defeated Ahmed Mujtaba of Pakistan with a lightning-quick submission (heel hook), 39 seconds into the opening round of their lightweight clash at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 in Denver, Colorado,

It was his first fight back since his promotional debut in May 2019 in Singapore, when he was knocked out in the first round by Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre. Making matters worse, he suffered multiple facial fractures that required surgery and a long recovery period afterwards.

Sage Northcutt also had a bout with COVID-19 in 2021 which scuttled his comeback plans that year.
