Sage Northcutt is excited to share ONE Championship’s historic U.S. debut with Demetrious Johnson.

On May 5, the Asia-based promotion will make history as they make their U.S. debut for ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. Northcutt will make his long-awaited return to the circle after suffering a brutal knockout against Cosmo Alexandre in his ONE debut over three years ago.

In the main event of the evening, ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson will defend his title against division rival Adriano Moraes in a highly anticipated trilogy bout. In an interview with ONE Championship, Sage Northcutt shared his excitement over returning on such an important night for the promotion with ‘Mighty Mouse’ at the helm:

“You have an incredible fighter, Demetrious Johnson, headlining the card, so the card’s gonna be super exciting, especially for the first card in the U.S. I’m so excited.”

ONE Fight Night 10 will air live from the 1stBank Center in Colorado. Meeting Sage Northcutt in the center of the circle will be dangerous Pakistani MMA champion Ahmed Mujtaba. ‘Wolverine’ will enter the bout 10-2 in his mixed martial arts career and is riding a two-fight win streak under the ONE banner.

Fans in North America who can’t make the event in person can catch all the action for free on Amazon Prime Video.

Demetrious Johnson hopes to headline a ONE Championship event in Seattle

This spring, ONE Championship will head to the mainland for what is sure to be a lineup loaded with the best combat sports stars in the world. As excited as Demetrious Johnson is to main event on such a historic night of fights, the ONE flyweight world champion hopes to headline an event for the promotion in Seattle someday:

“That would be amazing if we could headline, and get ONE Championship to come to Seattle,” Johnson said during the ONE Fight Night 6 post-fight press conference. “I think the fans in Seattle will absolutely love what ONE Championship brings as a brand and as an event itself with the kickboxing, Muay Thai, and mixed martial arts. I think they'll absolutely love it.”

Originally born in Madisonville, Kentucky, Demetrious Johnson grew up in Parkland, Washington, roughly 30 miles outside of Seattle. Should ONE Championship head to the Emerald City, Johnson would undoubtedly pack the house as an event headliner. For now, ‘Mighty Mouse’ will focus on giving the live crowd in Colorado a night to remember on May 5.
