Stamp Fairtex is excited to see her former foes compete against one another this Friday night at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues has been sidelined ever since she captured the ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title with a brilliant performance against fan favorite Stamp Fairtex in August 2020. At ONE Fight Night 8, she’ll return to the circle for the first time in over two years to reaffirm herself as the undisputed queen.

Standing in her way will be a woman Stamp Fairtex is also very familiar with, Janet Todd. In Rodrigues’ absence, ‘JT’ has established herself as one of the best female fighters in the world. She proved that much when she captured the promotion’s interim world title in August against Lara Fernandez.

Having shared the circle with both women in the past, Stamp gave her thoughts on the highly anticipated co-main event during a recent interview with ONE Championship:

“I think both of them are good fighters... They are at the same level. For Allycia, although she was away from the arena for a long time after giving birth, she has come back so strong as seen from her recent training. For Janet, her agility is already the hallmark.”

Stamp Fairtex lost to both Allycia Hellen Rodrigues and Janet Todd in back-to-back bouts before making a full-time transition to MMA but has already confirmed her intentions to challenge the winner later this year.

All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free via Amazon Prime.

Stamp Fairtex eyeing return to Muay Thai, but still wants rematch with Angela Lee

Stamp Fairtex may be plotting a return to the art of eight limbs later this year, but that doesn’t mean the fan-favorite is giving up on her dreams of being the promotion’s first three-sport ONE world champion:

“I think I’ll find a way back to fight in Muay Thai for fans who miss me... I hope that Chatri would allow me to come back to Muay Thai sometime next year.”

Stamp has not competed in Muay Thai since her August 2020 loss to Allycia Hellen Rodrigues. Since then, she has focused entirely on mixed martial arts, amassing an impressive 9-2 record on her way to winning the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix tournament in 2021 and securing a title opportunity against reigning atomweight queen Angela Lee.

Stamp came up short in her first meeting with Lee at the promotion’s 10th-anniversary showcase ONE X, but she has every intention of earning a rematch with the ‘Unstoppable’ champion:

“Although I lost, I didn’t regret sharing the circle with her... I learned a great lesson from that fight. It was a big, good test for me. For sure, I will improve my ground game more, with the hope of challenging Angela Lee again.”
