Stamp Fairtex will have her eye on the ONE world championship unification bout between Janet Todd and Allycia Hellen Rodrigues this Friday night.

Rodrigues will return to the Circle for the first time in more than two years at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. Still the holder of the ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title, Rodrigues will attempt to reestablish herself as the division’s top dog by taking out the woman who has been holding the division down in the interim, Janet Todd.

The winner in Friday night’s co-main event clash will be the undisputed queen of atomweight Muay Thai, but they’ll immediately have a target on their back and the shooter will be Stamp Fairtex.

In an interview with ONE Champion, the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix winner shared her thoughts on Friday’s high-stakes matchup and her plan to challenge the winner before 2023 comes to a close.

“Personally, I think that Janet may lead a tiny step ahead of Allycia because she has been more active in the Circle lately. But that’s not that much. Both of them have equally 50 percent chance to be [the] champ. And, I'm ready to meet either of them. Because my goal is to go back and win the Muay Thai belt if I get that opportunity.”

Upon entry into the promotion, Stamp Fairtex immediately made a name for herself, capturing the ONE atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing titles in her first two performances. She would go on to lose those titles against Janet Todd and Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in 2020.

Fans in North America can watch ONE Fight Night 8 live and for free on Prime Video with an active Amazon subscription.

Stamp Fairtex is ready to strap ONE gold around her waist in 2023

It’s been a minute since Stamp Fairtex has felt the weight of 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold around her waist. If things go her way, that will change before the clock runs out on 2023.

Chomping at the bit to challenge the winner of Janet Todd vs. Allycia Hellen Rodrigues at ONE Fight Night 8 this Friday night, Stamp still stands as the No. 1 ranked contender to Angela Lee’s atomweight MMA world championship. She’ll attempt to reestablish herself as the division's top contender on May 5 when she competes in the United States for the very first time at ONE Fight Night 10.

Stamp will square off with American Alyse ‘Lil Savage’ Anderson at the 1stBank Center in Colorado. A victory would likely put her in pole position for a title opportunity. The only unknown is the status of the division's current titleholder. Angela Lee has been absent from the promotion since revealing that her 18-year-old sister Victoria Lee had tragically passed away shortly after Christmas.

Of course, ONE Championship is going to give the Lee family all the time they need to mourn the loss. That’s exactly what they should do, but there is always the possibility that ONE may opt to establish an interim title, similar to what they did during Allycia Hellen Rodrigues’ absence, in an attempt to keep the division moving until Lee is ready to return.

A victory over Alyse Anderson would undoubtedly put Stamp Fairtex in that interim title picture, should the promotion go that route.
