Stephen Loman has the opportunity of a lifetime in just a few short weeks at ONE on Prime Video 4. ‘The Sniper’ will share the circle with a bona fide ONE Championship legend; former bantamweight titleholder Bibiano ‘The Flash’ Fernandes.

The two bantamweight juggernauts will clash for the number one spot in the division. It’s an exciting opportunity for Stephen Loman, who is still in the early stages of his tenure under the ONE banner.

Discussing the bout with ONE Championship, ‘The Sniper’ shared his excitement to test his skills against one of the best bantamweights in the world:

“In the past, I thought I was going to be matched up with him, but that didn’t happen. So for sure, my excitement for that match is still there. He’s the guy who defeated Kuya Kevin [Belingon], so I want to face him to see where my level is at right now.”

Defeating Kevin Belingon on three separate occasions in a series filled with highs and lows, Bibiano Fernandes will be looking to regain momentum after a crushing knockout loss to John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker at ONE: Lights Out this past March.

A win for both fighters will put them into world title contention, particularly with the promotion’s bantamweight title sitting vacant following the result of ONE on Prime Video 3’s main event between John Lineker and No.2-ranked contender Fabricio Andrade.

Stephen Loman anticipates a world title fight with a win over Bibiano Fernandes

As an 11-time bantamweight world champion, Bibiano Fernandes knows what it takes to fight under pressure. For Stephen Loman, this will be his first true test inside the circle, but the budding bantamweight star is more than ready to seize the opportunity he has been given against ‘The Flash’ before moving on to a world title showdown:

“This is my chance to focus on fighting him and defeating him because he’s the No.1-ranked [contender]. And if I beat him, I will have the chance to fight for the title.”

Who the champion will be at that time is a question on everyone’s mind following the results of ONE on Prime Video 3. After failing to meet the bantamweight weight limit, ‘Hands of Stone’ found himself stripped of the world title, leaving only his challenger Fabricio Andrade eligible.

Nearly capitalizing on the moment, an errant knee delivered by Andrade landed low, bringing a stop to the contest which was ultimately called a no-contest. With the world title picture now seemingly wide open, Stephen Loman could find himself in prime position for a shot at ONE gold with a big win over ‘The Flash’ on November 18.
