Ali Abdelaziz recently took to X (Twitter) to claim that the UFC never offered Magomed Ankalaev a fight against Alex Pereira. The Dominance MMA CEO, who represents Ankalaev, wrote:
"Just to be clear the UFC never offered a fight to Magomed Ankalaev against Alex Perreira, this is one thing I’m 100% certain about."
Fans, however, flooded the comments section, and many refused to believe Abdelaziz. Users chimed in with comments like:

"that means it's definitely true!!!"
"He literally said he was offered it at 300 and that he had to decline"
"no one believes the words coming out of your mouth"
"If they did, Dana would go IN on ankalaev ranting about him. some people are not the brightest"

Despite being on a 10-fight win streak and considered by many to be the rightful next in line for a shot at 'Poatan's' 205 pound strap, Ankalaev has been booked to face Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. Pereira will instead face No.8-ranked Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307. With both cards set to go down in Oct. 2024, it's unclear why Ankalaev was passed over for a title shot.
Magomed Ankalaev replies to Alex Pereira's claims that he didn't accept the fight
Not long after Alex Pereira cleared the air on why he's fighting Khalil Rountree Jr. instead of Magomed Ankalev, despite many claiming the latter to be a more worthy contender, the Russian took to X and responded.
MMA page @mma_orbit took to X and shared a post detailing Pereira's claims. Ankalaev took to the comments section of the tweet, and wrote:
"This is the biggest lie this not man style."
Many believe these two gentlemen will stand across each other in the octagon eventually. They will, however, have to get past their next assignments, as Ankalaev is set to face Rakic at UFC 308 on Oct. 26, while Pereira attempts to make the third successful defense of his light heavyweight reign against Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307 on Oct. 3.
