The former UFC interim lightweight champion previously revealed how deeply involved his parents were in ensuring he made the right decisions while growing up. His mother even had him drug tested every week.

The 35-year-old Arizona native is presently recovering from a last-second knockout defeat in his BMF title bout against Max Holloway at UFC 300 last month.
Before UFC 300, Gaethje achieved two consecutive wins, notably defeating Dustin Poirier in a rematch at UFC 291 last July, where he claimed the BMF championship.

Justin Gaethje’s parents were among the spectators when he endured what some describe as the most devastating knockout in UFC 300.
'The Highlight' endured a ferocious knockout in the final moments of the BMF title fight against Max Holloway. Despite leading on the scorecards, Holloway signaled towards the canvas, urging Gaethje to scrap it out in the center of the octagon for one last exchange as the fight approached its end.
The fight concluded with a knockout, sending Gaethje tumbling to the canvas with just one second remaining in the fifth and final round.
As it happened, Gaethje’s parents were seated in the second row, directly behind Tim Welch and reigning middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis, so the footage capturing their reactions might be quite disturbing, especially from a parental viewpoint.
