Nate Landwehr, who was seen in action at UFC San Antonio last night, has seemingly won over Kamaru Usman.

'The Train' has been making waves in the world of MMA ever since his debut in the UFC in 2020 and is considered to be one of the company's most exciting prospects. Landwehr lived up to his reputation yet again as he defeated Austin Lingo in impressive fashion.

While Austin Lingo saw some early success in the first round of the fight, Nate Landwehr did not take long to adjust and started dominating as the round proceeded. Following some back-and-forth in the second round, 'The Train' managed to hurt Austin Lingo and locked in a rear naked choke to come out victorious by way of submission.

In the process, Nate Landwehr proved that he wasn't just a hype train and also impressed many with his submission victory over Austin Lingo, including former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

'The Nigerian Nightmare' took to Twitter to heap praise on Nate Landwehr and said:

"Damn I like this kid @NateTheTrain #UFCSanAntonio"

UFC San Antonio: who won the main event?

The UFC San Antonio card was headlined by a highly anticipated bantamweight clash between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen. The fight started off with Sandhagen seemingly on the front foot. 'Sandman' pressured 'Chito' and found early success with his takedowns.

While one would assume that Marlon Vera would pick up the pace in the second round, that wasn't the case. It wasn't until the third round of the fight that 'Chito' finally started to let his hands go, however, he still failed to assert his dominance.

Much to the surprise of the MMA world, despite a rather dominant showing, Cory Sandhagen managed to earn just a split decision. With his win over Marlon Vera, 'Sandman' has certainly established himself as one of the title contenders in the bantamweight division.

Speaking about his future following his win during a post-fight octagon interview, Sandhagen called for a bout with Merab Dvalishvili for the No.1 ranking in the bantamweight division before fighting for the title. He said:

"I would feel so slimy, if I asked for a title shot before Merab. Merab is an absolute animal, I respect him a ton. I want that number one spot."
