A UFC strawweight recently heaped praise on Belal Muhammad's fighting style after he successfully executed his game plan against Leon Edwards last weekend. The 36-year-old earned a unanimous decision win to become the new welterweight champion.
'Remember The Name' has been a polarizing fighter due to his fighting style being predominately wrestling, which hasn't typically been one that fans are excited by. The reigning UFC welterweight champion has also trained with Khabib Nurmagomedov and has adopted similar traits in that he mixes in timely strikes but focuses on taking his opponents down.
While speaking to Fight Bananas' James Lynch, UFC strawweight Tabatha Ricci noted that she is a fan of 'Remember The Name's fighting style. Ricci complimented Muhammad on his performance and mentioned that she is a fan of his fighting style because of how technical it is. She said:
"I think [Muhammad] did great. He's been training [with] Khabib [Nurmagomedov]. I'm really [a] fan of the Dagestani style, the wrestling, the control. Not everyone likes that style, you know, it's hard for people to understand what's going on on the ground but I'm [a] big fan of the grappling. There is a lot of technique behind all of that."

Belal Muhammad trolled fans booing his welterweight title win at UFC 304
Belal Muhammad took the opportunity to troll the fans in attendance at UFC 304 for booing him after he was officially announced as the new welterweight champion.
The fans in attendance were obviously rooting for their countryman, so they weren't happy when Edwards lost the welterweight championship. Muhammad began his post-fight interview by addressing the boos and took a jibe at fans for ensuring that they didn't get the outcome they wanted. He said:
"It sounds like all the people booing right now have tears coming out of their eyes. I see you guys with watery eyes right now...I'm no Khabib [Nurmagomedov], I'm no 'GSP'. I'm Belal Muhammad. I'm my own man and now the world knows it, the world sees it, they gotta start respecting it. I'm a world champion." [1:35 - 3:15]
