Former UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko recently discussed her title loss to Alexa Grasso and did not hold back in expressing her desire for revenge. 'Bullet' gave a cold response about her defeat and stated that she has vicious intentions of finishing Grasso in a rematch to assert her superiority.
Valentina Shevchenko, who is widely regarded as one of the most skilled fighters in the UFC, was clearly disappointed by her loss to Grasso at UFC 285. Rather than dwelling on defeat, she seems to be using it as motivation to come back even stronger.
The Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian professional mixed martial artist recently appeared on The MMA Hour show with Ariel Helwani, where she spoke with a steely determination about her desire to reclaim her title and take revenge on Grasso.
Shevchenko stated:
"I'm just gonna go there and just finish the fight. And this is what I feel, that I have to do because it's very important to uh... not just win by points but definitely kind of like, to show your superior level in this. It's truly very important for me."

Valentina Shevchenko blames on UFC authorities' incompetence in Alexa Grasso fight
In one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, Alexa Grasso challenged and defeated Valentina Shevchenko for the women's flyweight title in the co-main event at UFC 285. The closely contested bout saw Grasso submit the reigning champion late in the fourth round.
Following the fight, Shevchenko expressed disappointment and suggested that officials showed negligence in their pre-fight checks, specifically with regards to Grasso's fingernails. Shevchenko claims that this may have given her opponent an unfair advantage in their fight, and questions why this wasn't checked more thoroughly.
During her recent appearance on The MMA Hour show, 'Bullet' remarked:
"It was a little bit blood in the beginning of the first round and people could see it’s kind of like short strike or something like that. But it wasn’t damage, unfortunately it was lack of checking length of fingernails. That’s why, the fingernails went like down to the skin and rip off the part of it, so it was like light blood. But it was not any cut, it wasn’t any damage of strike, it was just like – I hope next time they will check more carefully."
