Conor McGregor recently issued a statement regarding his legal troubles on social media and expressed his regret at everything that happened with Nikita Hand in December 2018. McGregor's post left many divided, with some urging him to get sober while others wholeheartedly backing his innocent claims.

For context, McGregor was accused of sexually assaulting Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018. After a lengthy court battle, a High Court jury named McGregor liable for the said assault and ordered him to pay Hand $259,000 in damages. Despite the verdict, 'The Notorious' has maintained his innocence and has vowed to appeal the court's decision.

In a recent X post, he addressed the incident and the trouble he's put his family through. Expressing regret over the incident that occurred six years ago, he wrote:

"People want to hear from me, I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world...That’s it. No more. Getting back to the gym- the fight game awaits!"

Soon after McGregor issued his statement, fans flocked to the post's comments section to express their thoughts.

UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa shared a message of support for McGregor and wrote:

"Stay strong and in peace. Keep doing great things."

One fan called the verdict a "farce" and wrote:

"Verdict was a farce and that's clear to anyone who looks at the case objectively. How can a man as vilified as McGregor get an impartial jury for a trial of this nature? Trial by media. Praying for your successful return to silence more haters champ."

Meanwhile, one user urged McGregor to get sober and wrote:

"Please sober up."

Conor McGregor could face another $8.3 million legal battle after recent civil assault case loss

It appears Conor McGregor could face another legal battle after being found liable in a civil assault case by an Irish High Court. The Irishman is being sued by former training partner Artem Lobov in connection to his Proper No.12 Whisky company.

According to Dublin Live, McGregor could be forced to shell out $8.3 million if he loses his case against Lobov in January. An insider recently issued a statement and said:

"Conor needs this case like a hole in the head after losing the sexual assault case. The Nikita Hand court hearing cost him his reputation and a quarter of a million quid. This case is not before a jury but could cost him around eight million if he loses." [H/t: Dublin Live]
