Japanese judoka Ayaka Miura will not hold anything back when she meets Danielle Kelly in a submission grappling match at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

The former ONE women's strawweight world title challenger is stoked to get back inside the ring after suffering a devastating shoulder injury against Brazil’s Dayane Cardoso at ONE: 156. Now that she’s locked, loaded, and ready to go, ‘Zombie’ Ayaka Miura plans to show no mercy towards her American adversary.

At the ONE Fight Night 7 pre-event interviews this week, the 32-year-old veteran warned Kelly to look out for her signature "Ayaka Lock."

“I will see if I can finish Danielle Kelly. Danielle Kelly will watch out for my Ayaka lock. The one that everyone saw in the past fights. But you know, I'm training other techniques and other finishing techniques or maybe I will showcase another side of Ayaka. I just want everyone to enjoy this fight. That's it.”

Indeed, all four of Miura’s victories at ONE Championship came by way of arm locks. In her ascent to the world title, ‘Zombie’ has rarely seen past the second round since she only needed 10 minutes to complete a submission. She’s very effective on the ground, which will present a challenge to her opponent.

However, Danielle Kelly is no pushover. The jiu-jitsu specialist returns to the ring with some momentum. At ONE on Prime Video 4, Kelly scored her first rear-naked choke for the promotion against multi-time sambo world champion Mariia Molchanova, needing less than three minutes to complete the submission.

Ayaka Miura vs. Danielle Kelly will therefore be an intriguing matchup as two different schools of martial arts collide on Friday, February 24. North American fans can watch ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video live and for free with an active Prime Video subscription.

Ayaka Miura vows to climb back up the rankings and fight for the strawweight belt once more

As soon as Ayaka Miura gets past Danielle Kelly, she vows to get herself onto the winning track and fight for the world title again.

The Japanse standout indirectly expressed her desire to run things back with the reigning ONE strawweight world champion Xiong Jing Nan on Instagram with the caption:

“I NEED A BELT. I wanna be the real 1. Make your time count. I can totally do it. Concentrate. @onechampjp@onechampionship”

The MMA veteran went five rounds with the Chinese striker at ONE: Heavy Hitters in January 2022. There was a great deal of action, but Miura fell behind on the scorecards as Xiong got the better of those exchanges with her striking. However, the Japanese athlete won’t be pushed to the sidelines as she fights for a second chance at gold.
