Donald Trump made an appearance at UFC 287, which went down at the Kaseya Center [previously Miami-Dade] in Miami, Florida, on Saturday night.

The Miami crowd was seemingly in love with the former U.S. president as they welcomed him with roaring applause. Boxing legend Mike Tyson also got up from his seat to welcome Trump.

Catch the clip below:

As alluded to in the above tweet, Florida is a Republican dominant state where the Democrats have not held the governorship or either house of the legislature since 1999. Donald Trump will certainly be banking on the Sunshine State for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Apart from the obvious campaign motifs, Trump has also been a longtime UFC fan and shares a close bond with Dana White. While White has praised Trump for helping him stage events during the pandemic, the former U.S. president has made several previous appearances on pay-per-views like UFC 244, UFC 264 etc.

The UFC 287 fight card has a hardcore Donald Trump supporter

UFC 287 marked the promotion's return to Florida for the first time since UFC 42, two decades ago. Israel Adesanya looked to regain his middleweight title in a rematch against Alex Pereira in the main-event of the night.

Meanwhile, the co-main event of the night featured Miami's own Jorge Masvidal against perennial welterweight contender Gilbert Burns. This marked Masvidal's first UFC fight in front of his home fans in a career spanning over a decade and a half.

'Gamebred' would also have been pleased to have the presence of Donald Trump, who he ardently supports. As seen in a UFC 287 Embedded video, Masvidal was recently invited to visit the former president's resort of Mar-a-Lago.

The BMF titleholder also voiced his support for Trump amidst the New York indictment before the Republican was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records. Masvidal said on Twitter:

"Because my family has lived through it and history has told us that this is a plague right out of the communist playbook. What they're doing to president Trump has never been done before to a president. For the bs charges that the DA New York is bringing up is complete and utter nonsense. Just not too long ago, Bill Clinton got a 'bj' in the oval office and absolutely nothing happened"
