Conor McGregor and fellow Ireland native Ian Garry shared a rather heartwarming moment backstage at the UFC 285 weigh-ins.

Garry is set to face Kenan Song in the early prelims of the event, while 'The Notorious' was at the weigh-ins as part of the principal photography for his upcoming movie Road House.

In a video posted on the UFC's Instagram handle, 'The Notorious' can be seen encouraging his fellow Irisher ahead of his upcoming fight. Garry is then seen interacting with McGregor's fiance Dee Devlin and his three kids.

'The Future' is undefeated in his MMA career and boasts a record of 10-0, with three of those wins coming inside the famed UFC octagon.

Conor McGregor is set to make his silver screen debut in the upcoming Jake Gyllenhaal starter Road House. The film is a remake of the 1989 martial arts cult classic of the same name starring Patrick Swayze.

After the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC 285, a scene for the film was shot on stage. The scene involved the film's lead Gyllenhaal facing off against his opponent in a fictional UFC 222 event.

McGregor is currently coaching Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter opposite Michael Chandler. The duo are is scheduled to face each other in the octagon later this year. However, the promotion is yet to confirm a date or location for the event.


Ian Garry says he wants to finish off the year fighting on a Conor McGregor card

It looks like Ian Garry is gunning for a fight under the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler card later this year. In an interview with BT Sport, the undefeated welterweight prospect stated that he wants to finish off the year fighting on a McGregor card.

During the interview, the 25-year-old laid out his dream scenario for 2023, giving a potential timeline for when and which cards he'd like to fight this year:

"March 4th Vegas. Ideally... I starch this guy in under eight minutes, I come out uninjured, untouched, and then I call on the mic for the Miami card [UFC 287]... Go in there, do the job. Two finishes in five weeks... [Then] fight middle of summer [or] end of summer, kind of like July [or] August."

Garry added:

"Conor is not back in the USADA testing pool yet, so he needs at least six months. So you're probably not talking until about October, November, [or] December until him and Chandler go at it and that'll be my final fight of the year."
