Former two-division ONE world champion Martin Nguyen has one of the heaviest hands in MMA. Back in 2017, 'The Situ-Asian' won the ONE lightweight world title against then-titleholder Eduard 'The Landslide' Folayang by sending him to the shadow realm.

After a hotly-contested first round, Martin Nguyen perfectly timed Folayang's trademark spinning kick and connected with an earth-rattling overhand right. The punch dropped the Filipino world champion like a ton of bricks and ended the match instantly.

Here's the video:

As shocking as the knockout punch was, perhaps even more news-worthy was Nguyen's actions after the finish. Immediately after the referee waved off the fight, the Vietnamese-Australian fighter instantaneously went from killer mode to caring mode. Nguyen went to his knees and provided care for Folayang, gently raising his head and making sure he didn't choke on his saliva.

Considering that he had just won a world title in amazing knockout fashion, everyone expected Nguyen to be running and jumping in celebration. Instead, he showed that the safety and well-being of his fellow warrior is more important than winning a shiny new belt. He's not just a professional fighter - he's a true martial artist.

Martin Nguyen returns to face Shamil Gasanov at ONE Fight Night 7

On February 24, at ONE Fight Night 7, Martin Nguyen will enter the Circle once again to face Shamil 'The Cobra' Gasanov. Nguyen is coming off a knockout loss to Ilya Freymanov back in October 2022 while Gasanov made an excellent ONE debut by submitting Kim Jae Woong a few weeks later.

The Lumpinee Stadium fight card will also include several high-profile matches, including a catchweight submission grappling match between Danielle Kelly and Ayaka Miura. Another submission grappling match will take place between former world title challenger Uali Kurzhev and Norwegian BJJ standout Tommy Langaker.

The event will be headlined by two world title matches, the first being ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champ Tawanchai PK.Saenchai's first defense of his belt. The pound-for-pound great will face streaking Jamal Yusupov in the co-main event.

The headliner of the night will be the much-anticipated grudge rematch between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker. After their controversial last fight that ended in a no-contest, the pair of knockout artists will battle it out once again for the ONE bantamweight world title.
