Thanh Le's reign as the undisputed ONE featherweight MMA world champion was ended by Chinese star Tang Kai in their August 2022 showdown, which went down at ONE 160 inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Tang endured and avoided Le's power shot in the first two rounds until he visibly slowed down in the last three rounds of the match. With the defending world champion showing signs of fatigue, Tang started operating like a surgeon and dissected him throughout the match.
First, the Chinese sensation beat up the lead leg of the Vietnamese-American powerhouse with solid kicks, and then he let go of his hands to connect multiple punches on Le's head.
His best moment of the match occurred in the fourth round, during which he landed a solid left-hand punch that wobbled Le and almost finished him. Eventually, Tang made enough of a case for the judges to award him the unanimous decision and become the new king of the weight class.
