Raul Rosas Jr. will take on Christian Rodriguez in his second UFC fight.

On April 8, ‘El Nino Problema’ looks to remain undefeated by extending his record to 8-0. The 18-year-old phenom is taking on Rodriguez, who has an 8-1 record. Although some fans think the UFC might “slow roll” Rosas Jr. due to his marketing potential, ‘CeeRod’ should not be overlooked.

Rodriguez made his UFC debut in February 2022 after establishing himself as a solid prospect with a 7-0 record. Unfortunately for him, he lost his first fight against Jonathan Pearce at featherweight. ‘CeeRod’ returned to the bantamweight division for his second UFC fight, defeating Joshua Weems by first-round submission.

Meanwhile, Rosas Jr. joined the UFC in 2022 after earning his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. ‘El Nino Problema’ quickly validated his hype by taking out Jay Perrin with a first-round submission. The 18-year-old looks to take another step towards superstardom against Rodriguez at UFC 87.

Take a look at Christian Rodriguez reacting to his fight announcement below:

Duke Roufus labels Christian Rodriguez as an MMA prodigy

Christian Rodriguez trains at Roufusport MMA with Anthony and Sergio Pettis. Although Rodriguez might be just another fighter to some fans, ‘CeeRod’ is a legitimate future contender in the eyes of Rofusport head coach Duke Roufus.

When the fight between Rodriguez and Raul Rosas Jr. was announced, Roufus had this to say on Instagram:

“My man Christian 'CeeRod' Rodriguez @ceerod97 is ready for his 1st Main Card Fight on @ufc #ufc187 PPV on a stacked card of the Best in the biz. I am honored & excited to help him make the journey to greatness. Christian has been training at @roufusport since he was 14 years old. He brings 11 years of experience going into this Fight. He is following in the footsteps of @sergiopettis & @rosenamajunas as teenage MMA prodigies. We have a lot more coming up.”

The winner between Rodriguez and Rosas Jr. will be one step closer to cracking the UFC bantamweight rankings. The intriguing 135-pound matchup takes place on the UFC 287 main card, which Alex Pereira vs. Israel Adesanya 2 headlines. Only time will tell if ‘El Nino Problema’ or ‘CeeRod’ can emerge victorious.
