Emiliano Vargas is one of the most hotly discussed prospects within the sweet science but just who is Vargas? The professional boxing record he boasts is a spotless one as of this writing. Vargas is currently 11-0 with nine knockouts at this juncture in his combative career.
The pugilistic prodigy has been involved in boxing since the age of 10 and collected national championship distinctions as an amateur boxer. After over a hundred amateur bouts, Vargas debuted as a professional fighter in May 2022 and had his sophomore pro bout under the Top Rank banner.
Vargas' coaching staff includes his father, Fernando Vargas, a former two-time junior middleweight champion. He trains out of Vargas Boxing Gym which is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has shown incremental growth on a fight-to-fight basis.
Vargas' last fight was on the undercard for Teofimo Lopez defending his WBO super lightweight belt against Steve Claggett. He will keep plying his trade in the fight game on the undercard of another big event as Vargas dons the big gloves again in just a few days.

Emiliano Vargas and his next in-ring assignment
Emiliano Vargas will be stepping into the ring later this week as he looks to steal the show on Sept. 20.
The man, operating under the alias of 'El General' will compete on the undercard of Jaime Munguia vs. Erik Bazinyan. Vargas takes on Larry Fryers who has 20 professional Queensberry Rules contests under his belt. Fryers has fought the likes of Xander Zayas and Vargas sees the gritty Irish fighter as a step up in competition for him.
That being said, Vargas has seemed confident he will make this next outing look easy on his perceived path to collect multiple world titles. The 20-year-old will have his fourth fight of the calendar year but he does not seem done for 2024 as of yet. Vargas has indicated that beyond this Fryers fight, he wants two or three more fights before the year is out.
The California native aims to show out in the coming days in Glendale, Arizona and Vargas looks to shine at Desert Diamond Arena. Beyond his abilities as an in-ring competitor, it looks like Vargas could have quite the future as an analyst based on his prediction for Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga recently.
