Fans trolled Dillon Danis after his bold claims in a recent social media post. Danis is best known for being a close associate of UFC megastar Conor McGregor. Despite a solid Brazilian Jiu-jitsu background and outspoken personality, competitive success has largely eluded the 30-year-old, making him a target for the online MMA community.

In a recent post on X, Danis posted a photo of himself in the gym and claimed to be the "best mixed martial artist in the world." He wrote:

"I am the best mixed martial artist in the world, and I will prove it. I will fight anyone. Every UFC fighter is scared of me."

In his professional boxing debut in October 2023, Danis suffered a lopsided loss against YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul. Prior to that, a security guard allegedly out-grappled Danis. His reputation has taken a severe hit since these incidents and fan reactions to his post reflected a similar sentiment.

When Dana White struck down Dillon Danis' attempt to get into the UFC

The lackluster performance against Logan Paul after months of build-up delivered a severe blow to Dillon Danis' reputation in the combat sports world. After getting outboxed for the majority of the fight, Danis lost the fight via disqualification for attempting to grapple in the closing seconds.

While Bellator MMA released 'El Jefe' from the contract shortly after, Danis took to X and expressed his desire to compete in the UFC. However, UFC CEO Dana White refused to entertain the idea of Danis competing in the promotion:

While speaking during his appearance on Full Send podcast, White said:

“I have no beef with the kid at all, I’ve probably said two words to him in my whole life. But every time he’s around, s***’s going down. We can’t have that stuff going on here."

He added:

“We don’t need that s*** to sell fights…The athletic commission goes crazy and people start getting fined and they come after us. It’s our job to keep that s*** under control. That’s why when you see these other events with these guys and everything breaks out like that…It’s a total, unprofessional clown show.” [H/T FanNation]
