ONE Championship shared a highlight reel of Zhang Peimian’s performances in the Circle.

At 19 years old, Zhang is a rising superstar with the potential to become a multi-time world champion. Before joining ONE, ‘Fighting Rooster’ established a Muay Thai/kickboxing record of 14-1-1. Since then, the Chinese-born fighter has won two of his three fights with the Asia-based promotion.

ONE recently posted a YouTube video showcasing Zhang’s skills with the caption saying:

“Former ONE World Title challenger Zhang Peimian is a force to be reckoned with! Ahead of his kickboxing bout against Russian phenom Torepchi Dongak on March 24, relive all his victories on the global stage!”

Zhang made his promotional debut in March 2022, defeating Josh Tonna by a second-round knockout. Four months later, he earned a strawweight kickboxing world championship opportunity with a unanimous decision against Aslanbek Zikreev.

Unfortunately for Zhang, Jonathan Di Bella was the better fighter on October 22, leading to the Canadian-Italian winning the vacant strawweight world title. ‘Fighting Rooster’ now looks to get back on track against promotional newcomer Torepchi Dongak at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.

Zhang Peimian is locked in on earning another world title shot

Zhang Peimian lost the opportunity to become one of the youngest champions in ONE Championship history. With that said, the 19-year-old will be back after continuing to evolve. During an interview with ONE, Zhang had this to say about what’s next in his fighting career:

“To get another World Title shot, I have to put together a winning streak. So this fight, or the next, or maybe if the promotion thinks I need three more shots before I get the rematch, I must win them all. We are targeting the belt, and everything before that is just a stumbling block.”

Zhang’s journey back to a world championship fight starts on March 24 at ONE Fight Night 8. The event also features two world championship fights - Rodtang Jitmuangnon vs. Superlek Kiatmoo9 (c) for the flyweight kickboxing world title and Allycia Hellen Rodrigues (c) vs. Janet Todd (ic) for the undisputed women’s atomweight Muay Thai world title.

ONE Fight Night 8 can be seen live and for free by North American Prime Video subscribers.
