Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Tammi Musumeci is big on striking a balance as a fighter, which has allowed her to enjoy what she does and achieve success. It is this same mindset that she is taking as she begins her journey in ONE Championship on March 24th at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Tammi Musumeci, sister to reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci, will make her promotional debut in ONE’s third Amazon show of the year against fellow BJJ black belt Bianca Basilio of Brazil.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Tammi Musumeci shared the importance of finding balance in everything that one does, and how it has allowed her to keep performing at a high level.

She said:

“My whole life I’ve just been in school and training, so it’s kind of been second nature. It was always trying to figure out the balance. It can get overwhelming sometimes. When I come home, I have to train and do cardio and do different things, and I have maybe 30 minutes just to chill.”

Adding:

“It’s just finding balance, but it’s also learning to enjoy it, as well. If I didn’t enjoy this it would just be like working all day.”

Prior to joining ONE, Musimeci, who is a lawyer outside of the competition, won many BJJ medals in various international tournaments while representing the United States like her brother Mikey. She is looking to continue that success in ONE, beginning with her showdown against Bianca Basilio.

All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.

Tammi Musumeci wins 2022 IBJJF No Gi world title

Prior to joining ONE Championship, American submission grappling ace Tammi Musumeci added a fourth IBJJF no-gi world title to her growing list of achievements.

No less than her brother Mikey Musumeci, the reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion, broke the news on Instagram.

Mikey posted a photo of himself and his lawyer-sister, and captioned it with:

“TAMMI NOW 5X BLACK BELT WORLD CHAMPION! My sister did it and is now the 2022 NOGI BLACK BELT WORLD CHAMPION. 😭❤️ Tammi works 5 days a week as a lawyer, and on her weekend off we drove to Cali, where she won her 5th world title in black belt. I’m so proud of her for her performance today, but also for the person she is. #proudbrother

In the no-gi finals of the 2022 IBJJF World Championship, which took place from December 8th - December 11th, the Italian-American bet capped her impressive showing. She locked in a rear-naked choke submission against Jasmine Rocha to win the gold medal.

Tammi Musumeci seeks to introduce herself to a wider audience when she makes her ONE Championship debut on March 24th. At ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video in Singapore, she will compete against Brazilian Bianca Basilio in a strawweight submission grappling showdown.

In Bianca Basilio, Tammi Musumeci is up against a fellow IBJJF world champion, who is out to stay unbeaten in ONE after winning in her promotional debut last November.
