Tyson Fury's insulting trash talk goes against his mental health advocacy, says Eddie Hearn

Jake Paul v Tommy Fury
Tyson Fury is set to fight Oleksandr Usyk later this year.

Eddie Hearn has taken Tyson Fury to task over his trash-talking comments.

'The Gypsy King' has become one of the biggest stars in the boxing world, partly through his dominance in the ring. Holding wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte, and more, Fury is arguably the best of his era.

However, he's also become a massive star thanks to his talk outside the boxing ring. Throughout his career, Fury has delivered more one-liners to count and has made it a point to dominate his opponents in verbal jousting before their fight.

Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn believes that is a bit hypocritical. In a recent interview with Boxing Social, the promoter discussed Tyson Fury as well as his upcoming title clash with Oleksandr Usyk in April.

Specifically, the promoter discussed the Brit's recent attacks on 'The Cat.' While Fury has long been a mental health advocate due to his own battles with depression, he's had no issues making fun of Usyk's public appearance.

In the interview, Hearn remarked on the recent insults:

"Well, he's a big advocate for mental health and being nice to each other, so yeah [laughs]."

Tyson Fury hits at Oleksandr Usyk over rematch clause

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk seemed to be on the road to making their fight official. Well, that was until today.

'The Gypsy King' and 'The Cat' finally agreed to fight over the weekend. While the two sides have been in talks since the latter's win over Anthony Joshua, it took much longer than expected to make the bout.

Ultimately, it took the Ukrainian to take a much smaller revenue split to make the fight happen. Seeing as how the two men are heavyweight champions, Usyk believed a 50/50 split was fair. Fury disagreed and refused to sign unless it was 70/30.

Oleksandr Usyk called Tyson Fury's bluff and agreed to fight just a few days ago. The WBC Heavyweight Champion has now made another request. In a recent video uploaded to social media, Fury stated that Usyk should forego the rematch clause.

He stated:

"Here's one to up the ante - how about there is no rematch clause for both of us? Let's up the ante completely. Never worry about what's in the future or how many more dollars you can get after you've been defeated. Worry about the fight. No rematch clause. Winner takes the glory, the loser goes home. How about that? Agree to that."
