#2. John Lineker (31-8-0) vs. Cory Sandhagen (10-1-0) (Bantamweight)

Lineker vs. Sandhagen
Lineker vs. Sandhagen.

After being sidelined due to a rib injury, this was 38-fight veteran John Lineker's first fight since May 2018. He was on a two-fight win streak and took on exciting Bantamweight prospect Cory Sandhagen, who had not tasted defeat in his last five fights.

The Bantamweight clash was a close back-and-forth affair as both men had their moments right from the opening bell. Sandhagen took the first round as he pressed forward and somewhat neutralized Lineker's powerful outbursts. Sandhagen landed a few good kicks and shots to Lineker's body and got the better of his opponent in the judges' eyes.

Lineker was the aggressor in the second round as he landed a few bombs in the early goings. Sandhagen scored a takedown but couldn't keep Lineker down for long. Lineker himself got a takedown in the latter half of the round and even attempted a neck crank. Lineker got in more volume in the second owing to his relentless approach and it was all apiece heading into the third and final round.

Lineker kept pushing forward in the final round but Sandhagen kept connecting with the jabs and straights. Even though Lineker landed some huge shots, Sandhagen kept firing away strikes at a brisk rate. Lineker had the opportunity to earn a finish with the Guillotine right at the end, however, Sandhagen survived despite a hard squeeze by Lineker.

Result: Cory Sandhagen def. John Lineker via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

The outcome is surely debatable but Sandhagen may have edged this one. Fine margins.
