#5 Diego Sanchez vs. Michel Pereira (Welterweight)

Round 1: The fight finally got underway after the electric reception that Sanchez got. Diego came in and attempted a somersault kick. Yes, he actually did that!
This was one the craziest first rounds you'd ever see. Pereira was going for flying knees and Showtime kicks while Diego was looking for a killer blow himself. Michel was pressing forward as Sanchez tried to keep the distance.

Sanchez moved forward in the final minute of the round but he didn't connect. That was a strange yet entertaining round, to say the least.
Round 2: Michel landed a body kick to begin the second round. Sanchez went for the front kick but Pereira saw it coming and landed a right on the counter. Sanchez came in for a two-piece combo, but Michel countered with the high knee.
Pereira went for the capoeira kick. He landed a front kick to the body followed by a right. Diego clinched for a few seconds before breaking it up. Sanchez connected with a solid body kick. Pereira landed a clean straight right that pushed Sanchez back.
Sanchez landed a clean combo himself in response. Michel landed an innovative superman punch and a follow-up combination across the Octagon. Sanchez went for a kick but got caught by Michel, who suplexed him to the mat as the round came to an end.
Round 3: Sanchez's corner told him to go and he attempted to do that by going after Pereira.
Pereira landed a takedown and then tried a frontflip kick. This was not a fight but an exhibition of the acorbatic insanity.
Michel cracked Sanchez with a few knees an one of them opened up a gash on his head. One of them landed while Sanchez was down on his knees and the referee called some time to let the doctor check on Diego.
Sanchez had the option to not continue the fight, which would give him the win via DQ. The veteran chose not to continue, of course!
Result: Diego Sanchez def. Michel Pereira (DQ, illegal knee on a downed opponent) (3:09, Round 3)
Sanchez was clrealy losing the fight but he capatilzed on Pereira's error to take the win. Was it the right decision? Well, that's open for dicussion. A win's a win and Nightmare would take it.
