UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem feels that commentator Joe Rogan put him on the spot after his knockout loss to Stipe Miocic at UFC 203 in September, after Overeem claimed that Miocic tapped to his guillotine choke that he locked in during the first round.
Rogan and Overeem stood side by side and watched the replay as the audience watched along as well, leading all to see that there was nowhere near evidence of a tap on the part of Miocic. Recently speaking to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Overeem stated that his team told him that the Croatian tapped to his choke:
“Joe Rogan put me on the spot,” Overeem said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour.
“My coaches were the ones that addressed the issue with me, they were like ‘Alistair, he tapped,’ and I told them ‘listen guys, are you actually 100 percent sure, and they told me we’re 100 percent sure, that’s why I picked it up, because of them. Rogan jumped up on it, and I saw he was like ‘I got you.’ He had me on that one, but it’s all good.”

Overeem and Miocic put on quite the show in their main event clash in Cleveland, as the two each had one another rocked at one point or another and came very close to finishing.
Overeem did have his patented guillotine choke locked in deep at one point, but he was able to overcome it and escape in front of his hometown crowd. Miocic would go on to finish Overeem with just seconds left in the first round.

Miocic has not currently received his next title defence as of this writing, but it is expected to come as the winner of Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum comes to a close at UFC 207 later this month.
