What's the story?
Conor McGregor's fellow SBG teammate and Bellator ace, Dillon Danis seemingly feels that people do Conor McGregor dirty by claiming that Max Holloway is the best Featherweight fighter of all time to step foot in the UFC.
In case you didn't know...
At UFC 231, over the weekend, UFC Featherweight Champion, Max Holloway successfully defended his UFC Featherweight Championship against Brian Ortega in one of the most dominant performances on the 145-pound division.
Holloway, who won the UFC Featherweight Title by beating former champion Jose Aldo, overcame the undefeated challenger in Brian Ortega after putting up a clinical fight which saw Holloway win via fourth-round TKO.
The heart of the matter
Since making his UFC debut several years ago, former two-division UFC Champion, Conor McGregor initially started out in the UFC's Featherweight Division, which he dominated for a long period of time defeating the likes of Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Chad Mendes, and eventually dethroning Featherweight King Jose Aldo in spectacular fashion.
However, since McGregor's move up to the Lightweight Division, Holloway has been making his moves down at 145 and his recent victory over Brian Ortega could arguably be considered as the greatest performance by a Featherweight in the UFC.
But, apparently, McGregor's fellow teammate Dillon Danis disagrees with it and feels The Notorious One is still the greatest Featherweight to step foot in UFC. As per Danis, the Irishman's victories over the likes of Poirier, Aldo, Mendes, and Holloway himself has solidified McGregor's place as the greatest 145-pound fighter.
What's next?
Max Holloway has stated that he is well and truly ready for anyone who steps up as his next challenger, however, as of right now we're still not sure which fighter steps up to challenge 'Blessed' for the Featherweight Title next.
On the other hand, McGregor could be returning to the Octagon in 2019 as well.
