What's the story?

After making history at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale by defeating her close friend Pannie Kianzad, TUF 28 winner Macy Chiasson opened up about her relationship with Kianzad, and further talked about the friendship between them.

In case you didn't know...

This past weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, Macy Chiasson made history by beating Pannie Kianzad in the final of TUF 28 to become the first ever Ultimate Fighter Featherweight female champion.

Chiasson made Kianzad tap out to a choke-hold in the second round to secure a dominant win.

The heart of the matter

While interacting with MMAjunkie after the conclusion of the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 28, Macy Chiasson stated that her win over her good friend Kianzad doesn't necessarily mean taking a dream away, and it felt more of embracing each other instead. Chiasson added that no matter what happens, she and Kianzad will always be friends.

“It’s not necessarily trying to take each other’s dream away. I think it was more that we embrace it together. We knew that we were going to be in there and we’re like, ‘No matter what, we’ll always be friends.’

By winning TUF 28, not only did Chiasson rightfully earn her UFC contract, but she did it within a year after making her professional MMA debut.

“I think, as far as the ‘TUF’ house goes, and then tonight, it’s just more of a mental thing. Believing in yourself, it doesn’t matter how many fights that you’ve had, it matters about the time that you put in, and the work that you put in and improving every single day, every single part of your life. In and out of the gym and in and out of the octagon. It’s all about improvement.”

What's next?

Now that Macy Chiasson has officially earned her UFC contract, fight fans should definitely keep an eye out for her, given how amazing she has been inside the octagon.
