When Joe Rogan explained why Khabib Nurmagomedov beats Jon Jones in GOAT debate: "Everybody gets f**king mauled"

Not long ago, on episode #1689 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the longtime UFC color commentator hailed Khabib Nurmagomedov as the greatest fighter of all time. He explained his reasoning to fellow comedian Yannis Pappas, detailing 'The Eagle's' dominance inside the octagon.

Nurmagomedov is widely praised for retiring undefeated at 29-0. He has only ever lost two rounds in his entire career and has never even sported as much as a mark on his face. It is a level of dominance never before seen in MMA, not even by the great Jon Jones.

"Khabib chokes everybody out, and he's like one of the greatest—no, if not the greatest. There's a real argument that Khabib's the greatest of all time. And again, he doesn't have the accolades that Jon Jones has, and I know that Jon Jones has one loss in his record, but that was a bullsh*t loss, it was a disqualification of a fight with Matt Hamill where he was destroying him. So you could make the argument that Jon Jones is undefeated."

Despite recognizing Jones' own greatness, he recognized the difference between Jones' status as an unbeaten fighter, despite the DQ loss, compared to Nurmagomedov's, given that the Dagestani legend has hardly ever struggled in any of his bouts. This cannot be said for Jones.

"Khabib is undefeated, he retired at 29-0, dominated everybody, no one was even close. Jon Jones has had split-decisions. The Reyes fight was f***ing close. So was the Thiago Santos fight. Close fights. There's no close fights in Khabib's history. There's no close fights. Everybody gets f***ing mauled."

Jones himself has previously provided his thoughts on the comparison between him and Nurmagomedov. However, there are those besides Rogan who uphold 'The Eagle' as the greatest fighter of all time. Newly crowned welterweight champion Belal Muhammad is one such figure.

On episode #2128 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the popular podcaster welcomed his good friend Joey Diaz onto the show. When discussing MMA, the former 'Fear Factor' host proclaimed legendary flyweight Demetrious Johnson as the greatest fighter of all time.

"He's probably the best ever in terms of just pure martial arts technique."
