Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. is set for June 17th in Las Vegas.

'Bud' and 'The Truth' have long been viewed as the two greatest welterweights on the planet. Despite the two ruling the division for years, they've yet to meet in the ring, and it's not due to a lack of effort between Crawford and Spence Jr.

For his part, the WBO welterweight champion attempted to make the fight after leaving the Top Rank in late 2021. Crawford knocked out Shawn Porter in the last fight of his contract and seemed intent on heading to Showtime to face Spence Jr.

Sadly, the matchup didn't happen, as the two couldn't reach a deal. Crawford, meanwhile, knocked out David Avanesyan in a one-off fight with BLK Prime. Following that win, he again stated his hope to fight Spence Jr., with the latter feeling the same way. Sadly, Crawford was ordered to face a WBO mandatory last month.

It seemed that the fight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. was dead in the water. However, according to a recent report from The Ring, the pair have finally struck a deal. The two welterweight champions will fight on June 17th, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Furthermore, the matchup is going to get a lot of eyeballs upon its announcement. The welterweight title bout is expected to be announced during the upcoming Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis card slated for later this month.

Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr.: Stephen Espinoza gives update

Showtime's Stephen Espinoza recently gave credence to reports that Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. is going down.

While recent reports that the bout was happening in June did seem sudden, there were signs that the two were in talks. Along with both Crawford and Spence Jr. stating they wanted the bout in 2023, Stephen Espinoza recently hinted at it as well.

In a recent appearance on The DAZN Boxing Show, the President of Showtime Sports teased that Crawford and Spence Jr. were in talks. While Espinoza was quick to state that nothing is official, there's a lot of hope in negotiations.

In a recent interview, he stated:

"There are discussions going on, I don’t want to say who is talking to who. The good thing is that no one has given up. As long as no one gives up, there’s a hope."
