WWE/MMA News: Paige VanZant expresses interest in the WWE but says the UFC comes first

Paige VanZant is scheduled to fight Bec Rawlings on August 27th at UFC on Fox 21

In an interview that aired on Sportscenter, UFC Strawweight fighter of Dancing With the Stars fame Paige VanZant gave her thoughts on a possible foray into the world of pro-wrestling after her management reported that the WWE had approached her to appear at SummerSlam.

VanZant who appeared on the show to plug her upcoming fight against Australian Bec Rawlings, which is incidentally taking place during the SummerSlam weekend, also opened up on a range of topics ranging from being bullied when she was younger on to her experience at Dancing With The Stars.

Stating unequivocally that focussing on fighting is her first priority, she mentioned that she even turned down a movie role because it was clashing with her fight schedule. As of now, she is however slated to appear in the movie ‘Kickboxer: Retaliation’ that is scheduled to be released in 2017.

On being quizzed about potentially making a guest appearance in the WWE, VanZant stated that she would love to work with the WWE as long as it doesn’t overlap with her fighting career.

Although reports linking her to a SummerSlam appearance can now die down, it would seem that there is nothing preventing her from eventually making a cross-over appearance like Ronda Rousey did at Wrestlemania 31.
