23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace recently landed in Mexico City for the upcoming Viva Mexico 250 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Following his arrival, Wallace shared a hilarious short clip with Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suarez and captioned it with a five-word message.
Wallace will pilot the #23 Toyota Camry XSE during the 100-lap main event scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025. The Viva Mexico will mark the 16th start of the season and will become the first points-paying race held outside of the United States of America since 1958.
In the short clip shared by the 31-year-old, he reflected on Mexico City's influence on him. Bubba Wallace hilariously compared his first day in Mexico, where he wore casual clothing, to his second day in the city, where he donned a serape, a traditional cloak worn in Latin America, and talked in the local language. He was followed by the Mexican driver Daniel Suarez, who also showcased his excitement for his home race.
Reflecting on the shenanigans, the 23XI Racing driver captioned the post:
"Mexico is growing on me 🤣"
Bubba Wallace also competed in the practice session at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and secured a P24 finish with a lap time of 94.814 seconds in the first session. He then moved to 18th place during the second practice session with the best time of 94.368 seconds.
Meanwhile, Daniel Suarez had a better run and secured a P9 finish in the first session piloting his #99 Chevy Camaro ZL1 with a best time of 94.049 seconds. During the second session, he moved to the 12th position with a lap time of 94.479 seconds.
Bubba Wallace shared his thoughts on the pressure he faced from his teammate Tyler Reddick's success in the 2025 season
Earlier this year, Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace went on NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick's podcast, 'Happy Hour'. During the episode, Wallace opened up about the pressure he has been facing this season from his teammate Tyler Reddick's success.
Recalling the moments, the #23 Toyota Camry XSE driver told Harvick:
"Seeing the success of the 45, not from a jealousy standpoint, but it's like 'I have the same stuff,' and I feel like I'm just as competitive as Tyler. I put all that weight on me, that pressure on me. So, I'm back in the gym, and nobody's telling me, 'Hey, you need to work out to run better; you need to be in more meetings to understand better.' I took that upon myself as, like, 'I'm doing just enough to get by, and that's not okay." [05:20 onwards]
Bubba Wallace ranks tenth on the Cup Series points table with 383 points to his credit. Meanwhile, his teammate Reddick ranks sixth and has earned 460 points this season. Wallace has secured six top-ten and three top-five finishes in 15 starts, while the #45 Toyota driver clinched five top-ten and three top-five finishes with one pole position this season.
