Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick was seen delivering speeches at Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns. Most recently, she spoke at Trump’s campaign rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania. But unlike Megan Thee Stallion, what she never did was charge $5 million for her efforts.
The NASCAR trailblazer recently took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared a clip of the American rapper and singer dancing to her 2020 song, “Body” at a Kamala Harris rally. Patrick said that twerking was never her forte and so she couldn’t have asked for any money, adding that all she did was spend a few dollars on clothes.
“All the events, rally’s, interviews, social posts….. I did for free. Actually spent a fair amount on wardrobe. But to be fair, I can’t twerk so…. It all adds up,” Danica Patrick wrote.
It was Patrick’s first time taking part in the presidential elections. And she did it not because she was a Democrat or a Republican, but because she was an American and wanted to make America great again.
In one of her earlier posts on Instagram, the 2008 Indy Japan 300 winner wrote,
“I made a rule for myself that if I didn’t vote I could not have an opinion about the outcome, because I didn’t earn that right. Not this time. I voted for @realdonaldtrump and I can’t wait to have him make America great again!”
Trump, a representative of the Republican Party, won by 86 electoral votes over Harris, who settled with 226 electoral votes. Trump swept all seven battleground states, viz. Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He lost all states but North Carolina to President Joe Biden back in 2020.
Danica Patrick supports Donald Trump’s jibe at Vice President Kamala Harris
Danica Patrick loved when Donald Trump said exactly what was on his mind at a campaign event in Miami. The 78-year-old said of Kamala Harris,
“She's off. No, I can't get over it. Who the [expletive] takes off? You have 14 days left, and she'll take a couple of more days off, too," Trump said. "You know why? She's lazy as [expletive], and she's got that reputation, and she's a radical left lunatic, she's further left than Bernie Sanders or Pocahontas." (Via Newsweek)
Patrick responded through one of her Instagram stories, saying,
“God I love when people just say what's on their mind." (via The Spun)
For someone who hasn’t voted until recently, it’s baffling how vocal Patrick has been about her political views. However, she did explain why she had never been this involved in politics.
“There's two things that you're told as an athlete to not talk about and that's politics and religion,” Danica Patrick said. “So I just never got into it. I never knew if it mattered. I never knew if my vote really counted and if that one really made a difference.”
"Now that we can see with everything that's gone on over the years with voter fraud, which is such a concern for some people. When you see how few votes it comes down to, you think about what would happen if I voted and then I helped some of my friends vote and then my friends helped my friends, and then you really turn the tide. I just feel like it's time to be counted,” she added.
