Elis Manolova: A Brief Biography
Elis Monalova is an Azerbaijani female wrestler born on 17th January 1996. She specializes in Freestyle wrestling and represents her country in the 68 kg category.
Elis made her major international debut at the 2015 World Wrestling Championships, where she was knocked out in the first round by Kazakhstan's Elmira Syzdykova. In 2016, she competed at the European Wrestling Olympic Qualification to qualify for the Rio Olympics, but failed to do so after she lost to Monika Michalik of Poland in the Bronze medal bout.
In 2018, Elis won the Silver medal in the 65 kg category at the World U23 Wrestling Championships. That year, she took home the Silver medal at the European Wrestling Championships. Elis also won a European title in the 65 kg category in 2019.
At the 2019 World Wrestling Championships, Elis Monalove won the Bronze medal in the 65 kg Freestyle category. The following year, she bagged the Bronze medal at the Individual Wrestling World Cup.
In May 2021, Elis Monalov reached the final of the 68 kg category at the World Wrestling Olympic Qualification and qualified for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
