Elmurat Tasmuradov: A Brief Biography
Elmurat Tasmuradov is a Uzbekistani wrestler born on 12th December 1991. He is a native of the Tashkent Region in Uzbekistan. Elmurat is a Greco-Roman specialist and represents his country in the 59 kg category.
Elumrat Tasmuradov first broke into the limelight in 2012 when he won the Silver medal in the 55 kg Greco-Roman category at the Asian Wrestling Championships. That year, he made his Olympic debut at the London Olympics but was knocked out in the quarterfinal after losing to Peter Modos of Hungary. The following year, Elumrat won the Bronze medal in the 55 kg category at the World Wrestling Championships.
Between 2013 and 2020, Elmurat Tasmuradov won five Gold medals (2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2020) and a Silver (2019) at the Asian Wrestling Championships. In 2016, he won the Bronze medal in the 59 kg category at the Rio Olympics. He also won a Silver medal (2018 in 63 kg) and a Bronze (2014 in 59 kg) at the World Wrestling Championships.
Elmurat Tasmuradov qualified for his third Olympics at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and will compete in the 63 kg Greco-Roman category.
