DJ Akademiks recently commented on the viral interrogation clip from Young Thug's alleged YSL trial questioning. In the video, a man who is speculated to be Thug was questioned about the reported crimes that his YSL associates were involved in.

The man in the clip proceeds to take multiple names, one of which was that of Pewee Roscoe, the man who was accused of shooting at Lil Wayne's tour bus in 2015. While the man in the viral clip admits to being unaware of who shot at Lil Wayne's bus, he says,

“They said Roscoe, but I don’t wanna block out y’all’s case by saying Roscoe ain’t do that."

In a snippet of DJ Akademiks' livestream posted by @AkademiksTV on August 29, 2025, the internet personality refuted allegations of Thug being a snitch following the viral video. DJ Akademiks mentioned that he had received intel from "street ni**as" who told him:

"They said it's not snitching because Roscoe was already locked up for it. So, Young Thug isn't bringing Roscoe's name into play, he's talking about the arrest of Roscoe for the shoot. I hope that makes sense."

DJ Akademiks said that he was trying to put forth a neutral perspective since he wasn't getting paid by either party for talking about the snitching allegations against Thug.

The internet personality added that his sources told him that in the alleged interrogation clip, Young Thug was referring to the case "that was already public on TMZ, that Roscoe was arrested for."

Young Thug denies snitching allegations amid backlash following viral interrogation video

Shortly after Young Thug's alleged interrogation video concerning his YSL RICO trial went viral, netizens began labelling him a "rat" and a "snitch". The backlash follows Thug's comments expressing his discontent against snitches via his rap lyrics and otherwise.

Refuting allegations of being a rat, the Go Crazy rapper took to X and wrote,

“They didn’t play my interrogation video in court cause I helped my brada #Ratwhere?”

In another tweet, the rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams II, posted a document showcasing a motion concerning the snitching allegations. The document prohibited the detective in the case from wrongfully claiming that he met Jeffery in the back of his police car.

Thug accompanied the document with a text stating,

"This motion got filed cause the detective lied and said I made a statement in back of a police car stupid 😂 that never ever happened"

“Jeff clean as Listerine, man. Clean as ivory soap, ya feel me? I done the time. I did that. That’s what you do. When you go into the interrogation room, that’s what you do."

Roscoe added that Thug did what a "real street ni**a" was supposed to do by keeping it "silent" and "overly real."

While Young Thug hasn't released a single in 2025, the rapper featured on Lil Baby's album for Dum, Dumb, and Dumber.
