No, Arthur Shelby does not die in Peaky Blinders.

Peaky Blinders is a British period crime drama television series created by Steven Knight for BBC. Although the show is fictional, as per the records, Peaky Blinders is loosely inspired by a real urban youth gang of the same name who were active from the 1880s to the 1910s in Birmingham. The first season of the series was released back in 2013 and has been running ever since then.

On 30 September 2014, Netflix acquired the rights to stream the show online. While the show was a massive hit amongst the UK audience, after it was released for streaming on Netflix, Peaky Blinders found a massive worldwide fan following in no time. The show starring Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, Helena McCroy, Sam Neill, Joe Cole, and many others, opened to great reviews from the audience and the critics.

The Peaky Blinders movie has finally begun its production. The first look was released recently by Netflix in September 2024. With the sixth season being the last in the series, the upcoming Peaky Blinder movie will finally bring the beloved British period crime drama television series to an end.

Brother of Thomas Shelby, John Shelby, and Ada Shelby, Arthur Shelby is one of the most beloved characters in Peaky Blinders. It’s true that the character did not die in Peaky Blinders; however, his death was staged in season 4 of the series.

Season 4 introduced Lucas Changretta (played by Adrien Brody) as yet another antagonist of the show. Nevertheless, Thomas Shelby has always been the man with a plan. To make sure not to lose to Changretta, the Shelby family decides to stage Arthur’s death in the season.

In the season, it was shown that during one of the boxing matches, the elder Shelby brother was garroted by one of Luca Changretta's henchmen. The attack on Arthur came as a shocker to the fans and left many teary-eyed after the character was shown to be dead. To make it more believable, the Shelby clan also hosted a funeral for their eldest sibling.
