Renner suffered ‘blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries' in a snow plow accident next to his house in Reno, Nevada, on Jan 1, 2023, reports CNN.

At a press conference on January 3, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam mentioned one of Renner's relatives was at the wheel of the actor's personal vehicle when he became trapped in the snow near Renner's home. Renner then picked up his snowcat, a PistenBully weighing in excess of 14,000 pounds, to tow the vehicle.

After towing his private vehicle, Renner stepped out of his PistenBully to talk to a family member. In the meantime, the snowcat started rolling and Renner tried to get back into the driver's seat to stop him from rolling. After the incident, he was transported by air to the hospital where we would have two surgeries.

Is Jeremy Renner not a Hawkeye anymore?

Jeremy Renner is without a doubt the best choice to play Clint Barton alias Hawkeye. However, it turns out the actor could have been substituted for another star though 'cause Marvel had not agreed to a key requirement set by the actor.

The actor revealed that he was not interested in his role. But he wanted to make sure he had plenty of time to hang out with his daughter Ava Berlin (born 2013). The actor said he spent a year and a half shuttling back and forth between London and Los Angeles for weekend visitations to spend quality time with his daughter in the middle of shooting. However, right now his future as Hawkeye may be in jeopardy.

Renner returned from the hospital nearly three weeks after the accident which left him in a critical state. Renner's friends say 'the crash was much worse than we know. Jeremy is very conscious of the fact that he is almost dead there,' one insider told Radar Online. Some friends revealed that it might be two years before the actor is back as Hawkeye.

Rumor has it that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is supposed to showcase the New Avengers, but Avengers: Secret Wars is the place where everyone is supposed to gather. With Secret Wars expected to arrive on May 1, 2026, Jeremy Renner has plenty of time to heal.

However, the estimated timeframe for his recovery is unknown at this point. We can assume that it will take him almost six months, if not more, before he gets back in shape.
