One of Netflix's biggest films, Extraction 2, a sequel to the 2020 action thriller, comes back in the summer of 2023. Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, and Adam Bessa continue their roles in the sequel.
Extraction is based on the graphic novel of Ande Parks Ciudad in 2014, which presented a story of Parks and Joe & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González. Netflix's 2020 movie adaptation tells the story of Tyler Rake as he is tasked with rescuing a kidnapped criminal lord's son.
Hargrave, who made his feature film directorial debut with the first film, serves as a director on the follow-up with Joe Russo once again penning the script. Joe and his brother Anthony and lead actor Hemsworth will also serve as producers of the film.
What are the actors of Extraction 2?
When Extraction 2 was announced, it was confirmed that Chris Hemsworth would be back to take on the role of Tyler Rake. It was also confirmed that actor Adam Bessa, previously known for the film Mosul, will be back to take on the role of Yaz. In the meantime, actress Rayna Campbell who played a radio technician for Nik's team in Extraction is now playing the named role of Ruthie.
Georgian model and actor Tinatin Dalakishivili joins the cast under the name of Ketevan. Producer and actor Patrick Newall, who played an anonymous mercenary role in Extraction, will henceforth play Seb in Extraction 2. Dato Bakhtadze, previously known for the role in Wanted, will play the role of Avtandil.
When was Extraction 2 filmed?
Filming initially started in September 2021 in Australia, but then moved to Prague, Czech Republic, as a result of the COVID-19 situation in Australia and concerns regarding potential closures. Extraction 2 was again begun filming in Prague in November 2021.
The shooting photos also revealed that Hemsworth was reported aboard a snowy train in at least one scene. Hemsworth completed the shooting in March 2022 and the production itself was completed in April after five months of production.

When does Extraction 2 take place?
Extraction 2 will probably resume immediately following the events of the first movie. and there is a lot of chance for exploring Rake's past. Taking into account what we see in the teaser, it seems sure to say that extraction 2 will be primarily fixed in the present. However, we might have flashbacks to Rake's past. After all, the film was supposed to be shot in Australia, so maybe we'll see something from the moment he was in the Australian military.
