Television host Jimmy Kimmel recently implied that Tyler Robinson, the alleged shooter suspected of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was part of President Donald Trump's "MAGA gang." Kimmel's recent remarks came despite official reports stating that Robinson was reportedly immersed in leftist ideologies, which seemingly contributed to his attack on Kirk.According to authorities, Robinson is thought to have been the gunman behind Charlie Kirk's fatal shooting, which happened at Utah Valley University campus on September 10, 2025. He was arrested on September 11, 2025, and is currently detained at a Utah jail.During the September 15 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel addressed Robinson's political affiliations during his monologue, insinuating that the suspected shooter was part of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) faction.“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said.Elsewhere in his monologue, he mocked Donald Trump for his response when asked how he was "holding up" after Kirk's death on September 12. According to the Independent, Trump's response was "I think very good" before the president switched the topic to talk about the ballroom construction at the White House.During Monday's telecast of his show, Kimmel played the clip to his live audience before condemning Trump for his response, saying:“He's at the fourth stage of grief: construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of somebody he called a friend. This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK?” According to the New York Post, this is not the first time Kimmel has been critical of Trump's response to Charlie Kirk's death. During the September 11 episode of his show, the talk show host called out the president for allegedly not uniting the country following Kirk's assassination and instead blaming Democrats for their rhetoric, saying:“With all these terrible things happening, you would think that our president would at least make an attempt to bring us together, but he didn’t. President Obama did. President Biden did. Presidents Bush and Clinton did. President Trump did not. Instead, he blamed Democrats for their rhetoric,” Kimmel said.Charlie Kirk's alleged shooter was possibly "radicalized" by leftist ideology onlineUtah Governor Spencer Cox claimed that Tyler Robinson, Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin, was possibly "radicalized" by leftist ideas after spending hours searching through the “dark corners of the internet." During an interview with NBC on September 14, Cox said:"There clearly was a leftist ideology. Friends have confirmed that there was kind of that deep, dark internet, the Reddit culture, and these other dark places of the internet where this person was going deep.”Ryan Saavedra @RealSaavedraLINKUtah Governor Spencer Cox says that investigators have made it clear that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old charged in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology”Furthermore, Cox added that Robinson's roommate and partner, who was a "male transitioning to female," was cooperating with the authorities.
