On May 9, 2023, an online post written by a TREASURE fan garnered a lot of attention on the internet. The post which received over 140k views highlighted that the ten-member group's upcoming fan meeting in September is heavily concentrated on venues in Japan, with minimal presence and promotions in Korea.

Additionally, their Asian Tour that took place from November 2022 to January 2023 was followed by only a month spent in Korea. Given that the K-pop group is based in Korea, fans were angry with the group's agency YG Entertainment for the lack of domestic promotions. Especially since the group is still in the early phase of their career, fans felt that it was all the more necessary for TREASURE to have more domestic schedules.

Fans express frustration over YG Entertainment's mismanagement and poor handling of promotions of TREASURE

While fans were aware that TREASURE has been spending less time in Korea, with much of their promotion devoted overseas, notably in Japan, the post made by a netizen on the internet aroused arguments.

Here's what the post called attention to:

"Their Asia tour started on November 26 and ended on January 31. They had domestic schedules in February, and from March to May they had an Aisa Tour and Japanese fans meetings. In June, they are in Korea before going to Japan in July and August. Then yesterday, they revealed TREASURE's September schedule, which angered the fandom."

It should be emphasized that the group was already receiving little to no promotion in their provincial spaces, thus the addition of more schedules for the group outside of the country inevitably enraged many fans. For September, the group has scheduled a fan meeting, Hello Again, and while fans were initially looking forward to it, upon realizing that most of the dates are centered in Japan, it fueled their anger and frustration further.

Fans immediately directed their anger at the group's agency, YG Entertainment for not balancing their schedules in both Korea and overseas. Additionally, they also felt that it was disrespectful to TREASURE's Korean fans who get very less chances to interact with or see their artists, and their lack of popularity within Korea already speaks of the mismanagement by YG Entertainment.

Fans also believe that this greatly affects the group's path to success. They've been pointing out that the ten-member boy group is filled with talented members who can easily excel in the industry with the right kind of management and promotions. However, with the lack of the same, the group's not only falling behind but is also not improving in terms of success rates both overseas and in Korea even three years after their debut.

In light of the same, fans have been bringing to everyone's attention the weight of the situation which can heavily affect TREASURE in the longer run. Fans hope that the current conflicts around the issue will urge YG Entertainment to shift their practices and concentrate more seriously on the management of their artists.
