Has Lana Del Rey ever starred in a movie? Singer opens up about her love for acting, says she loves Quentin Tarantino

Lana Del Rey revealed she wants to act in a feature film. She said she loves Quentin Tarantino’s work and credited both Tarantino and David Lynch as her biggest inspirations in directing.

In an interview with W Magazine (published August 26, 2025), Lana Del Rey was asked if she ever considered acting. She said:

"Yes, I’d love to be in a film. When recording, I’m a one-off taker on a song. But with my videos, I love to do a million takes. Of course, I love Quentin Tarantino. He and David Lynch have been the biggest influences on my work. But the majority of what I watch is not films. My favorites are shows on the Hallmark Channel. Hallmark movies are great. Going into 2018 and 2019, it was a bad time and I had Hallmark running on the TV 24 hours a day."

Lana Del Rey has never appeared in a feature film. However, she has starred in six short films, one documentary film, and seven magazine films. Apart from such work, she has also appeared in 55 music videos and has directed a significant number of her videos.

In her aforementioned interview, Del Rey also shared more information about her upcoming studio album, further plans in her career, and how her husband has been an inspiration to some of her music.

In her W Magazine interview, Lana Del Rey shared that her new album, Stove, will be released in January next year after being delayed from spring. She also revealed that she added six new songs to it.

"They were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time. The majority of the album will have a country flair. Eight years ago, when I was looking to make a country record, no one else was thinking about country. Now everyone is going country! I’ve asked myself, Should I retire all my snakeskin boots? Should I put my cowboy hats in storage?," Del Rey said.

Lana Del Rey's last studio album, Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, was released in March 2023 through Interscope Records. Jack Antonoff was one of the producers on the album, who is also working on her next album. It topped the charts in eight countries and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 in the United States.

Del Rey also opened up about writing music for her husband, Jeremy Dufrene. She revealed her one of her tracks, Stars Fell on Alabama, was written for Dufrene.

"I open my show with that song—that’s it, so far. Jeremy is the most impactful person in my life. He’s quiet in public, but around me he talks all the time. It’s strange: Jeremy and I have what we call “parking-lot time.” We spend so much time in parking lots, just reading or talking in the car," she explained.

The singer continued:

"Sometimes, in life, you think you’re the only one in the world who loves a particular thing, like sitting in an empty Macy’s or Home Depot parking lot. You might be really weird to some people, but then you find another soul who feels the same way."

Del Rey also recently made headlines for her comments on fellow singer Ethel Cain. The two artists had a tiff on social media, which seemed to have died down as of writing.
