Larkin Community Hospital recently issued a statement after a viral video showed its former employee celebrating Charlie Kirk's death. The right-wing political activist was shot in the neck while attending an event at Utah Valley University and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.Soon after Kirk's death, Florida-based anesthesiologist Dr. Tatiana N. Atkins responded with a video posted on Instagram."I'm just really glad Charlie Kirk just got himself f**king shot because he is right. Empathy is dangerous to society. So, no one should give a f**k that he's dead," she said in the clip.Dr. Atkins also claimed that she was "using his words.""Empathy is a new way thing and it's very problematic. You're right. No empathy for you. Zero," she concluded. The video went viral on social media, with several online reports linking Dr. Tatiana N. Atkins to Larkin Community Hospital. The organization has now issued a statement clarifying its relationship with the anesthesiologist."We are aware of a video circulating on social media in which an individual is claimed to be working with Larkin Community Hospital. We wish to make it clear that this individual is a prior Resident of Larkin Community Hospital who completed her Residency in 2018. She is not currently employed, does not have privileges, and has no current affiliation with our hospital or within the Larkin health System," the statement asserted. It concluded by explaining that the thoughts expressed by Dr. Atkins didn't "represent the mission, vision, or values" of the hospital.According to a report from Breitbart, Dr. Tatiana N. Atkins has also worked at Gloucester's Riverside Walter Reed Hospital and was part of St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie in 2024.Her Instagram account was reportedly deactivated soon after the video was posted online.Charlie Kirk's assassination through the eyes of witnessesMilwaukee Prepares For The Republican National Convention (Image via Getty)According to a report by ABC News, Charlie Kirk was answering a question about gun violence in America when a gunshot rang out, causing chaos among the crowd. I immediately knew he was going to die," Dels said.Sara Tewell, a student at Utah Valley University, recalled:"Blood was gushing everywhere. A friend and I ran into a building and ran out and down the street just trying to get to safety."She also predicted that the shot came from her left and was fired from about 200 yards away.Danielle, a student at Brigham Young University, also attended the Charlie Kirk event. She was sitting just 15 feet from Kirk and described the assassination as "really hard to witness.""You just see his neck just, like, open up and there's just, like, so much blood that just came out," she said. The manhunt for Charlie Kirk's murderer is still ongoing as of this writing.
