Jeemin and Chanelle, the two participants from the idol survival show "R U Next?" have reportedly left HYBE Corporations. On November 20, 2023, X (formerly Twitter) user @willibeit posted about it in a tweet on the social media site, claiming that both the trainees had left the company. However, neither HYBE has confirmed it nor any other media outlets. Notably, BELIFT LAB—the label that debuted and manages ENHYPEN—is the agency that aired the audition series "R U Next?"

Furthermore, another X user, @laraa_katseye, reiterated the subject and wrote:

"no way Jeemin and Chanelle both left hybe."

The survival show has a similar concept to I-LAND, through which seven members of the popular group ENHYPEN were selected. Similarly, in "R U Next?" participants vie for the chance to make their professional debut in a new female group.

"We can still support them": Fans get emotional but show support towards Jeemin & Chanelle of "

R U Next?"

leaving HYBE and pursuing education

In June 2023, HYBE revealed that negotiations were underway to introduce a new girl group. It was eventually disclosed that the female group BELIFT LAB will make its debut on the reality-based survival show "R U Next?" The show featured 22 participants from various ethnicities, including Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Korean-American.

On X, several fans came forward to post about it. As per @willibeit, Jeemin has reportedly decided to focus on her studies, while Chanelle is allegedly going to a "SKY" college in South Korea.

For the uninitiated, a "SKY" college represents the three best universities in South Korea, which are considered equivalent to an Ivy League college.

Three reputable institutions situated in Seoul, South Korea, are together referred to as SKY, an informal acronym. These colleges are Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University.

Moreover, another X user and a fan, @illieseom, wrote:

"Respect Jeemin and Chanelle's decision please if that makes them happy then it's okay.. we can still support them. You guys know what happened in show the way they struggled and the hell they went through, maybe that's why they want to pursue different things."

Another fan, @lesseraulo, wrote:

"I was so devastated when I heard the news but as long as they are happy, I will support these two no matter what path they take. we love you Jeemin and Chanelle."

Check out some other fans' reactions:

The grand finale of the program "R U Next?", which aired on September 1, 2023, saw 22 trainees battling it out for coveted seats in the six-member female group. The participants were Minju, Moka, Youngseo, Iroha, Jiwoo, Jeemin, Wonhee, Yunah, Jeongeun, Chanelle, and Himena, among others.

It is important to note that Chanelle was eliminated in episode 8 of "R U Next?" and Jeemin was eliminated in the finale, episode 10. Meanwhile, Jeemin was a former trainee from Source Music, the label that debuted LE SSERAFIM and is operated under HYBE.

Additionally, the show's instructors were revealed as 2 AM's Jo Kwon, soloist Lee Hyun, Park Gyu Ri of Kara, soloist Kim Jaehwan, and Aiki from the dance group HOOK.

In addition, Shin Kung, Baekho, Heeseung, and Jungwon of ENHYPEN, Woozi of SEVENTEEN, Jay Park, and Baekho served as guest judges on various episodes of the survival program.

The final debut lineup consisted of the six participants who had won their spots during the finals. Fan votes and the final choices of HYBE and BELIFT LAB were used to develop this roster. The final six-member line-up consists of Moka, Minju, Youngseo, Iroha, Yunah, and Wonhee.
