On November 15, 2023, PST, Spotify aired the fourth episode of Billions Club: The Series featuring LISA on its official YouTube channel. The BLACKPINK rapper is the first female K-pop artist to have her song Money surpassing 1 Billion streams on the widely popular music streaming platform, Spotify. She is also the first K-pop artist to have been featured on an episode of Billions Club: The Series, aired by Spotify.

In the episode, the Money singer-rapper expressed her gratitude for earning the plaque from Spotify for exceeding 1 Billion streams. Fans rejoiced as she ate off from the very plaque marking her entry into the club.

One of her fans, @Lisafirstlove1, posted on X and wrote, "We are so proud of you Queen Lisa."

A plaque, trophy, or certificate is awarded to people in honor of reaching a noteworthy milestone. This is a symbol of honor and recognition, and some artists have been creative in celebrating the milestone, by eating off the plaque!

When an artist reaches the enormous streaming milestone, they are presented with a gigantic black plaque featuring a huge, sparkling silver plate that has their name and the name of the song that became a member of the Billions Club, along with the Spotify logo.

The BLACKPINK idol made her favorite Thai omelet—Khai Jiao, a Thai shrimp omelet delicacy—as a whole meal to serve on top of sticky rice on the gleaming commemorative plaque in her Spotify music video. She went ahead by eating the meal off of it and marking her ascension to the Billions Club. The Money singer then had some coconut ice cream on top of a white bun to complete the meal.

Fans cheered as the Money singer-rapper said in the episode that she is proud of herself for coming this far and this feat makes her want to keep making music. Her fans flooded X with congratulatory messages as they applauded the star.

A fan and an X user, @lsloops wrote, "Record breaker LISA" while another fan, @LISANATIONS_ wrote, "She's always said, don't tell people your dreams, show them! She really did it. There is an incredible number of people who support you, we will always have your back. Keep making fire music LALISA."

Furthermore, the Money rapper-singer became the fourth member to get indicted in the Billions Club: The Series after Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Bad Bunny. The series was first launched and aired in 2020 by the Swedish company, Spotify.

Other artists, such as Drake in September 2020 for his song In My Feelings, Halsey for her 2020 hit Without Me, and her duet with Chainsmokers for Closer, have also celebrated their 1 Billion plaques from Spotify. Further, Joe Jonas, Bebe Rexha, and Diplo, among others are also one of those artists who have eaten off the Spotify 1 Billion streams plaque.

Meanwhile, BTS as a group earned their Spotify 1 Billion streams plaque in 2022 for their hit-smash single Dynamite (2020). The group then ate Bibimbap, a Korean rice dish, off their Spotify plaque.


Meanwhile, the contract renewal of Lisa and other BLACKPINK members with YG Entertainment is still in the shadows. Speculations are running wild that the four members might not renew their exclusive contracts with the company. However, YG Entertainment announced on November 14, 2023, that they will disclose the group's final decision later as negotiations are still ongoing.
