Fashion giant Shein has responded after an image of Luigi Mangione was used as a model on its website. The photo of a person closely resembling Mangione was seen wearing a white, short-sleeved shirt before it was removed from the website. According to the BBC, the product was priced at £7.50, which is just under $10.Although it is not clear when the photo was uploaded to Shein's website, it was reportedly removed shortly afterward. An archived listing of the product shows a model closely resembling Mangione wearing a Shein shirt. The caption states:"Men's New Spring/Summer Short Sleeve Blue Ditsy Floral White Shirt, Pastoral Style Gentleman Shirt For Everyday Wear, Family Matching Mommy And Me (3 Pieces Are Sold Separately)."The web.archive.org listing states that all sizes of the shirt have been sold out except for '44(XXL).'Executives from Shein have reportedly clarified the issue to Newsweek via email, saying:"The image in question was provided by a third-party vendor and was removed immediately upon discovery."Luigi Mangione is accused of the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024. The 27-year-old is charged with first-degree murder "in furtherance of an act of terrorism," two counts of stalking, two counts of second-degree murder, and one firearms offense.
