On January 12, Tom Holland clarified break-up rumors in a video where he answers that they are "absolutely not" split up to reporters. The two met on the set of the Spider-Man films, where they played each others' love interests. As per Elle, the two started an off-screen relationship in 2017 and went public in 2021 after sharing a kiss at a stop-light in Los Angeles.

Although the couple has been open about dating, they have kept their relationship private. In the summer of 2023, Holland told The Hollywood Reporter,

"Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don't think we owe it to anyone."

In an interview with ELLE in August 2023, the Euphoria actress said that parts of her life are public but have control over what she chooses to share.
