Since her retirement from gymnastics this year, Dunne is frequently seen accompanying her boyfriend to the games and cheering from the sidelines. She is often seen navigating online criticism and hate about Skenes. In a recent interview with pagesix.com, she stated that she receives hatred similar to that of the popstar, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce.

She highlighted that she and Swift face the criticism for being successful and in the spotlight. Dunne further voiced her opinion that, for some reason, people are still uncomfortable with women succeeding in sports.

“I think that she takes the heat a lot worse than I do, because, I mean, the bigger you are, the more people you have trying to tear you down,” she said. “It just really resonated with me. It’s a unique position to be in. And I think for some people, women in sports is uncomfortable for some reason.”

"I'm gonna be completely honest, either you have to ignore them or block them. I have no shame in blocking people, yeah, or unfollowing. If you're getting hate and you don't wanna see it, you have control over your account," Olivia Dunne said.
"Every single time when something good is happening to me or I'm about to have a breakthrough, whether it's a huge new collaboration or something great, whether it's Sports Illustrated cover, there's always, you know, the down, there's always people trying to pull at you, tear you down. I don't know if it's jealousy; I don't know what it is, but it's funny how things work," she added.
